LOS ANGELES (AP) -- A general has dismissed charges against a Camp Pendleton sergeant who was accused of murdering a captured insurgent in Iraq. Lieutenant General James Mattis has tossed out the charge brought by prosecutors so he can review bear witness against Sergeant Jermaine Nelson. Nelson was accused of murdering the insurgent in Fallujah but a command never approved the charge.
